Due to restrictions placed on us by the Covid-19 pandemic, we are unable to allow visitors to attend an Open Evening in person for families wishing to apply for a Year 7 place in September 2021.

To overcome this we are holding a ‘virtual’ Open Evening, which will include all the necessary information for parents and carers of children applying for Secondary Transfer in September 2021.

A video tour of the school will be available to view from our school website from Wednesday 23 September. The 2021/2022 Prospectus will also be available to download, as well as the Supplementary Information Form and Admissions Policy for September 2021.

We cannot accept completed paperwork for Year 7 applications until after 23 September. Please monitor the school website for further details of when completed paperwork and the additional documents we require you to provide can be submitted; we will supply a list of dates and times when you can do this. To accommodate working families the dates and times will be after the school day has ended and will also include a number of Saturdays throughout October.

With regard to mass practice during the lock down period when churches were closed (from March to July 2020), Governors, when assessing applications, are aware there will be a four month gap in mass attendance for all Catholic applicants, please do not be concerned about this.

Governors and Headteachers of Catholic schools within the Diocese, as well as priests, have received communication from the Director of the Education Commission regarding the issue of mass practice during the lock down period when churches were closed (from March to July 2020). Assessment of applications will be guided by the following statement from the Diocese

The suspension of the obligation to attend Sunday Mass was announced on 18 March 2020 by Bishops' Conference of England and Wales. If a parent/carer attended Mass at a particular parish (or parishes) prior to 18 March 2020 then they will be considered to have attended Mass in that parish (or parishes) regularly since that time. This will remain the case until the Sunday obligation is reintroduced by the Bishops.
